Linotype Fontexplorer X

Could FontexplorerX, a free font management solution from Linotype, overtake the Extensis Suitcase market? OS X only, but I believe Windows development is pending.

Turning the Pages at the British Library

I’ll commend the British Library for their Turning the Pages online gallery, they’re offering a peek in some historic volumes, but I wouldn’t have recommended using Director for the implementation, Flash does a great job as you can see on one of our recent projects for renowned artist and designer, Larry Vigon. You have more control over the little details, the British Library’s gallery seems a little clunky to me.

Google Launches Blog Search

Today, it looks like Google is offering two flavors of search for blogs, Google Blog Search and Blog Search through its popular Blogger service, though their indexing of sites isn’t limited to Blogger.

It appears that they’d like to compete with other blog search engines, Technorati, Feedster and Bloogz by offering their take on blog search. I’d bet that they’ll also be implementing targeted ads towards the search results as well. Will they dominate this market as well or compel the competition into innovating new services and offering better results, what do you think?

Lineto - Font Foundry

Besides having some beautiful fonts for sale, Lineto has a slick navigation that floats above the everything else and kind of emulates Finder in OS X.
