Design Observer has an interesting article on how design by committee created the U.N. Headquarters, something that would not have been possible unless this process happened. Sometimes this can bring down or delay a project, with conflicting ideas and frivolous work because of feedback from a wider audience not privy to the targeted communication between the design team and client’s decision makers, but in this case, as a result of this process, the United Nations complex exists today.
