Apple unveils an empty glass cube that will remain open 24/7 while the city previews prototypes of new street furniture.
Ok, it’s obvious I like the gadgets. Some are more sublime than others. I found this one and to put it simply, PixelRoller is the coolest paint roller I’ve ever come accross. It “paints pixels, designed as a rapid response printing tool specifically to print digital information such as imagery or text onto a great range of surfaces” and is applied by the user with continous strokes. PixelRoller can be seen as a handheld “printer”, based around the ergonomics of a paintroller, that lets you create the images by your own hand.
Brian Jackson, Evolve Media’s Creative Director, recently spoke and was a jurist at Quorum 2006 in Mexico City. Brian was honored to have been able to speak and present with renowned designer, James Cross and illustrator, Maria Rendon a Mexico City native. Besides the conference, the three designers spent a bit of time exploring Mexican ruins, sampling the local cusine and engaging in design related discussions.

MIT graduates James Patten and Ben Recht designed the Audiopad, an interactive tabletop system which tracks the position of objects and converts their motion into music.
” Audiopad has a matrix of antenna elements which track the positions of electronically tagged objects on a tabletop surface. Software translates the position information into music and graphical feedback on the tabletop. Each object represents either a musical track or a microphone. “
