By using an infared laser that pulses off several reflectors to create 100 dots of plasma per second, Japan’s National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) was able to create a true three dimensional display. Epson has just unveiled a 7.1-inch QXGA display — based on LTPS-TFT (low temperature polysilicon TFT) e-paper — that features an impressive 1,536×2,048 resolution and “memory liquid crystal” technology which retains the image even when turned off. No word yet on availability.

Developed jointly by Studio9 and TUM, the “People Track Panorama” is a new kind of presentation tool, in which the oberserver’s head is used to control the images shown onscreen.  Not sure exactly how they track or what the setup involves, but it&#8217;s an interesting concept wirth noting.
